Who We Are

Kata Residence is a short-term rental accommodation located at 88 Thanon Kake Kwan, Karon, Phuket 83100, Thailand. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our booking site or contact us, and how we use it.

What We Collect

When you make a booking request or leave a review, we collect:

Name, email address, mobile number, and country of residence
Trip details: dates, layout chosen, number of guests, purpose of trip
Any notes, referral information, or business invoice details you provide
Your signature (drawn on-screen) to confirm your booking request
A photo of your passport, which you send us separately via WhatsApp - required by Thai law for foreign guest registration (TM30)

If you leave a public review, we collect the name, score, and text you submit.

Why We Collect It

To process and confirm your booking request
To register foreign guests with Thai immigration, as required by law (TM30)
To communicate with you about your stay via WhatsApp, email, or phone
To display approved reviews on our site, with your consent
To improve our services and respond to special requests

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Booking requests are sent directly to us via WhatsApp (operated by Meta). Reviews are stored using Google Firebase, a cloud database service. Both providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy standards.

How Long We Keep It

Booking and guest registration records are kept as long as required by Thai law (typically related to TM30 and tax record-keeping obligations). Reviews remain published until you ask us to remove them.

Your Rights

You can ask us at any time to:

Tell you what personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Delete your data or remove a review, where we are not legally required to keep it

This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. It uses standard web hosting (Netlify) and the services listed above to function.

Children

Our booking process is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children; any child guest information is provided by an accompanying adult as part of the booking.
